Unlike MIDI footswitches, AIRSTEP GP communicates with your device through a dedicated two-way protocol, going far beyond simple MIDI commands. It syncs with your device in real time, with LEDs instantly showing your current effect on/off states, tempo, preset, and bank, so you always know exactly what is active.

GP-5 Quick Demo

AIRSTEP GP goes beyond basic MIDI switching by turning five footswitches into a fully optimized control system. Without any setup, you can access all presets and effect controls directly from the floor.

In Preset Mode, switch 100 presets across 25 banks, select Preset A/B/C/D, use Dual Press for Bank-/Bank+, and set Tap Tempo whenever needed. In Effect Mode, the same five switches control PRE, DST, MOD, DLY, and RVB, with long-press actions for PRE/DST/MOD Type switching.

Scene Mode adds another powerful layer: each scene recalls a custom effect on/off combination within the same preset. Together, these modes make AIRSTEP GP feel like a native footswitch system designed specifically for your Valeton and Sonicake device.

AIRSTEP GP vs. MIDI Controller

AIRSTEP GP and your multi-effects unit create a portable, cable-free control setup. With up to 300 hours of built-in battery life, AIRSTEP GP gives you long-lasting wireless control without cables or external power for the controller.

GP-50, GP-150, GP-180, Pocket Master, and Smart Box already run on built-in batteries. For GP-5, AIRSTEP GP adds USB-C power output, providing up to 4 hours of portable use without a wall power supply. Together, they form a truly mobile rig for practice, recording, and live performance.

The wireless connection stays stable and responsive, while your device's editor app can stay connected at the same time. You can control your device with AIRSTEP GP from the floor and still edit tones, adjust settings, or fine-tune parameters in the app whenever needed.

AIRSTEP GP adds two expression pedal inputs for real-time control of almost any assignable parameter—volume, gain, wah, pitch, EQ, FX parameters, and more. For GP-5 and Pocket Master users, this goes far beyond MIDI controllers that are typically limited to basic volume control.
